Where to Look: Finding the Power Source
Your garage door opener is typically plugged into a ceiling-mounted outlet near the center of your garage. Here’s how to check:
Grab a step ladder and locate the outlet above your garage door motor.
Make sure the power cord is fully plugged in—not loose or halfway out.
If it looks connected, gently unplug and plug it back in to reset the power flow.
Check the outlet itself by plugging in a different device (like a phone charger or power tool) to see if the outlet is live.
If the outlet has no power, you might be dealing with a tripped breaker or blown fuse—common after a surge or lightning storm.
Still Not Working? It Might Be a GFCI Issue
